Eczema

Eczema or Vicharchika is caused due to a faulty lifestyle, which leads to impairment of digestion and aggravation of Pitta Dosha. Pitta manifests in the skin and causes accumulation of heating toxins known as ama. These toxins accumulate in body tissues, contaminating them at a deep level and causing Eczema. Use of local creams, antibiotics and steroids only mask the symptoms; they do not affect the root cause of this disease and that is the reason why this problem often reappears. Ayurveda recommends an individualized Eczema treatment plan for patients. The line of treatment works on pacifying Pitta by enhancing the body’s digestion, as well as cleansing the body of accumulated toxins with personalized herbal medicines and customized home remedies.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a non-contagious common skin condition that causes rapid skin cell reproduction resulting in red, itchy scalp, dry patches of thickened skin. The dry flakes and skin scales are thought to result from the rapid build-up of skin cells. Psoriasis can be caused by a variety of reasons. Heredity can be crucial. If one parent is affected, then there is 15% of chances for the child to suffer from psoriasis. If both the parents are affected then the possibility of child getting the psoriasis is 60%. Consumption of opposite foods (such as fish and milk together), trauma on skin like cuts, bruises or burns, some medicines or skin irritants, excessive smoking, alcohol consumption and mental stress or psychological trauma can also be responsible for causing it.

Leucoderma (Vitiligo)

Leucoderma  or Vitiligo is a pigmentation disorder in which melanocytes (the cells that make pigment) in the skin are destroyed leading to white skin and white spots.  As a result, white spots appear on the skin in different parts of the body.  Similar patches also appear on both the mucous membranes (tissues that line the inside of the mouth and nose). The hair that grows on areas affected by Leucoderma sometimes turns white. The most widely accepted view is that the depigmentation occurs because Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease – a disease in which a person’s immune system reacts against the body’s own organs or tissues. The disease is deep rooted and needs specific treatment, to pacify Pitta and cleanse the body, thereby treating the white spots and white skin.

Ringworm (Tinea)

Ringworm is a skin infection caused by a fungus. Ringworm can affect skin on your body (tinea corporis), scalp (tinea capitis), groin area (tinea cruris, also called jock itch), or feet (tinea pedis, also called athlete’s foot). Often, there are several patches of ringworm on your skin at once.

Tinea versicolor infection can happen to anyone, irrespective of age or gender. The infection is commonly seen in thighs, trunks, shoulders and back. In minor cases tinea can be treated with simple home remedies taken from an experienced AyurShakti doctor, however, to prevent recurrence it is necessary to get medicine root-cause treatment of the infection without delay.
